Bakwa Gravity Water Scheme
Issue:
Lack of clean water and dependence on unsafe sources
led to disease outbreaks and hardship for 1,500 residents.
Water scarcity significantly impacts daily life and community development
Goal:
Construct a 10m³ water tank, 1.7 km pipeline, and stand taps
with community participation.
Increase awareness of WASH practices across the community.
Improve access to safe drinking water for the population of Bakwa, Njikwa municipality.
Impact:
1,500 people provided with improved access to safe drinking water, including 816 children, 364 women and 320 men.
Delivered in partnership with Njikwa Municipal Council, with community in-kind contributions.
